Michael Duergner

Michael Duergner is an engineering manager, software architect and seasoned software developer. He is currently in between jobs. His previous role was as engineering lead with Zalando. He worked for the company in the offices in Helsinki, Finland, Lisbon, Portugal and Dortmund, Germany.

Michael joined Zalando in May 2016 when they acquired his startup AMAZE. Prior to starting AMAZE, Michael used to work as a freelance software developer and architect. His clients included wishdrum ag form Switzerland where he served as VP Engineering & DevOps as well as Netjay GmbH & Co KG where he was engaged as a software engineer.

His past jobs also include being CTO at PocketsUnited GmbH, senior software engineer at Motorola Mobility Inc. as well as software engineer at Aloqa GmbH.

Michael holds a Master’s degree in computer science from Ludwig-Maximilians-University Munich as well as a Honor’s degree in technology management from the Technical University Munich & Ludwig-Maximilians-University Munich. In addition Michael spent a term abroad at Carnegie Mellon University Pittsburgh as a visiting research scholar.
